MegaFilter
The Ideal Solution For Water Treatment in Aquaculture
Suited for any volume of fresh and salt water
Suited for all fish species

What is MegaFilter?
MegaFilter is a patented multi-functional multi-stage biofilter designed primarily for recirculating aquaculture farms. MegaFilter supports all water treatment processes used in intensive aquaculture, and requires substantially less energy and maintenance than other methods.

How does MegaFilter differ from other biofilters?
MegaFilter is a hydrodynamically driven, 3-stage monoblock biofilter combining 3 various load types. MegaFilter provides complete nitrification, solids removal, re-aeration and degassing, as well as complete de-nitrification - thereby canceling the need for additional filters and sedimentation tanks.

Main Advantages of MegaFilter

  • Multipurpose, simple, and compact. Provides a complete water treatment solution in one compact column without electrical and moving parts.
  • Withstands high hydraulic and biological loads while ensuring high purification with regard to all physical and hydro-chemical indices.
  • Exceptionally low operating and maintenance costs.
  • Quick and easy to assemble and set up, and easy to use.
  • Good buffering for changes in hydraulic and biological load.

MegaFilter Major Components

1. Water Inlet
2. Tricking (dry) filter
3. Expandable plastic media (bead) filter
4. Re-aeration and degassing
5. Water outlet
6. Submerged up-flow mineral filter
7. Sedimentation area
8. Solids outlet

Major Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • 3 steps of biofiltration in Trickling, Expandable Media, and Mineral filters, using 3 different kinds of media (including media that can only be treated by MegaFilter)
  • Original, patented Trickling Filter
  • Internal de-nitrification process
  • Does not consume electrical energy and oxygen but uses the energy of the supplied water to saturate the air
